Scholarship at the University of Western Australia

The University of Western Australia offers the Global Excellence Scholarship to high-achieving international students from around the world who begin an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate course at UWA in 2026.

Funding

The scholarship is provided as an annual tuition fee discount. The amount depends on the applicant's academic results.

For undergraduate students:

• Up to AUD 12,000 per year

• Up to AUD 36,000 over a standard three-year degree

• Up to AUD 48,000 over an eligible four-year degree

• Some eligible five-year combined degrees can receive up to AUD 60,000

For postgraduate students:

• Up to AUD 12,000 per year

• Up to AUD 24,000 over two years

The scholarship is deducted directly from tuition fees each semester.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be an international student from any country

• Receive an offer for an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate course at UWA commencing in 2026

• Have an academic result equivalent to at least ATAR 85 for undergraduate study or WAM 65 for postgraduate study

Some programs are excluded, including the Assured Pathways to Medicine and Dental Medicine and postgraduate programs such as Juris Doctor, Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Dental Medicine and Doctor of Optometry.
