PACT Zollverein Residency Programme 2027 is an international residency in Essen, Germany, for professional artists and cultural practitioners who want to develop an artistic project or production.
The programme is open to applicants from around the world working in performing arts, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary practices, film and moving image, digital technologies, and socially engaged arts. Applications can be submitted individually or as a collaborative project with up to four participants. Student projects are not eligible.
Residencies take place between January and July 2027 and last 3–6 consecutive weeks. Participants receive their own studio space at PACT Zollverein and can work independently on projects at different stages of development, from initial research and concept development to technical and production work. A public presentation of the project is possible but is not required.
Funding includes:
a €400 weekly grant per participant;
free local accommodation;
reimbursement of travel expenses to and from PACT Zollverein;
studio space;
technical equipment and professional technical support, subject to availability.
Funding is available for up to four participants per project.
Applications must be completed in English. Artists of any nationality may apply; the official eligibility criteria describe the programme as open to international artists and cultural professionals and do not specify nationality restrictions.
