IIHF World Championship 2027 Volunteer Program

The IIHF World Championship Germany 2027 is recruiting around 1,500 volunteers to support one of the world’s largest international ice hockey events. The championship will take place from May 14 to 30, 2027, in Germany. Volunteer registration is currently open for Düsseldorf and Mannheim.

• Events & Services

• Drivers / Transportation

• IT Services

• Marketing

• Media Operations

• Medical Operations

• Float / Rover

Applicants can select up to three preferred areas during registration. Training and orientation will be provided before the tournament.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old by May 1, 2027

• Be available for at least 7 volunteer days

• Have a valid email address and smartphone

• Have very good German language skills

• English is an advantage and may be required for some roles

• Be willing to participate in the kick-off event and relevant training

• Previous experience in sports or event management is welcome but not required

International applicants are welcome to apply.

What is provided

• Free meals during volunteer shifts

The volunteer position is unpaid. Travel and accommodation costs are not covered and must be paid by participants themselves.

Registration opened on September 2, 2026. No application deadline has currently been announced. Successful applicants are expected to be informed by the end of 2026.
