Data Science Lead

Mayflower is looking for a Data Science Lead to lead its Data Science team in Limassol, Cyprus. The company builds high-load products used by millions of people worldwide and applies machine learning across recommendations, search, trust & safety, content understanding and other core product areas.

The position combines people management, technical leadership, stakeholder collaboration and hands-on work on key machine learning initiatives.

What you’ll do

• Lead and develop a high-performing Data Science team
• Set priorities, ownership and technical standards across the team
• Establish best practices for experimentation, model development, validation and reproducibility
• Work closely with Product, Backend Engineering and MLOps teams
• Improve the ML lifecycle from prototyping and experimentation to production and monitoring
• Contribute directly to recommendation systems, personalization, search, trust & safety and content understanding
• Define appropriate success metrics and identify where machine learning can deliver measurable product impact
• Support complex technical decisions and review models and experiments

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science or Applied Machine Learning
• Previous experience in a Senior or Lead role
• Experience managing a Data Science team
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Strong understanding of modern machine learning methods
• Strong Python and ML stack experience
• Experience with experimentation and A/B testing
• Ability to combine technical leadership with people management
